One day I decided it was time that I checked in on my favorite Oakland subject, The Washouse. It had been years since I'd driven by since painting it back in 2003 as part of a temporal fascination, urban blight. The blacktop that I found was less than 24 hours old, no lines even drawn yet. And the graffiti! I have a photo to prove that I painted it exactly as I found it that sunny morning in 2017.
