My husband's father, Alfie Zalinskis, passed but kept coming back to my husband in dreams. I had a little abstract sitting around unfinished that suggested I insert Alfie into it, as photographed by his eldest son, Egils, back in the day. The painting is the result. It's Alfie slipping through the veil to keep an eye on us all. The red and white edge shown in the second shot signifies the Latvian flag since Alfie and my husband are Latvians. I made the painting a birthday present to my husband.
