When you take a class with Anthony Holdsworth the first thing he has you do is mix a mid range gray from black and white. Then you get to choose one hue. Then you paint a still life using your hue, white and black. Next assignment is to choose a second hue. My second choice was violet. He brought in a model and we painted her in two sittings with our two hues. She knew everything about Anthony and told stories during the sitting. He hated it.
