Peonies are my mother's favorite flowers, filling our home with their beauty every spring. Even in winter, when fresh blooms are scarce, she brightens her space with silk or porcelain arrangements. My painting process is spontaneous; I seldom plan. Playing with paint, paper, marks, and textures, I let the surface guide me. This sweet piece unfolded organically, and I worked diligently to preserve the freedom that comes with artistic play.
