John Kariuki is a self-taught visual artist based in Kiambu, Kenya.
Specializing in landscapes and portraits, he employs various mediums, including acrylics, charcoal, oil pastels, and paper collage. His distinctive style features heavy impasto textures, creating depth and vibrancy.
Kariuki's art gives tangible form to his imagination, ideas, and emotions, captivating viewers with its intricate details and vibrant hues. His works are best appreciated in person, where the intricate textures and layers truly come alive.
This particular piece, is a depiction of one of the many country roads in the town of Endarasha, in what was previously Kenya's Central Province.
The National Museum of Art i hovedstaden Nairobi.
