Three elderly horses resting in a meadow, enjoying the sunshine and a slight breeze.
With this work I want to take you into 'timeless togetherness'. Looking through a gateway into a world where horses are heard and seen. Where there is no pressure and no burden anymore but they can just be a horse. Together and as individuals. An ordinary moment, on an ordinary day.
I have set up the composition with the aim of recognizing a herd but with a direct focus on the
single horse. They are connected to each other, they lead you through the painting. However, are you also aware of the distance between them and their non-verbal communication.
I have worked in oil paint with the 'Zorn palette' as the starting technique. By using this palette, this work only built in these colors; black, ocher yellow, cadmium red, titanium white.
The painting technique and design is a combination of the influences of classical style and impressionistic style keys, adding to a new 21st-century art movement called “Imprealism”.
