Fun sketch of the legendary comedic duo of Laurel & Hardy.
Bertha Peyton (1871 - 1947). Bertha Peyton received her art education at the Art Institute of Chicago, graduating in 1893, and she then studied for three years in Paris with Aman-Jean, Raphael Collin and Olivier Merson. This drawing is from a group of drawings completed during a trip to Hollywood in th early 1930's. Peyton was a friend of James Parrott who directed several movies starring Laurel and Hardy, considered one of the funniest teams of the silver screen. This is the only later work found in the recently discovered portfolio and is a rare "movie" image from the period.
