I’ve worked with the ‘Money’ or ‘Silver Dollar’ plant since 2016 after walking with a friend on her burned land. There was a dry husk of the shrub with the seeds attached and we collected them. Each seed pod has three layers. There is the outer, shiny layers and a middle layer that has the actual seeds attached to both sides. I fell in love with their form and have created approximately 20 works that are conceptual but grounded in their nature.
