Eco Printing 2023-present
Because of my love of nature and collecting the smaller things nature makes, such as shells, eco printing was close to a perfect fit, as collecting leaves is the beginning of the process. Called "dirty pot" printing, I was drawn to this technique because no chemicals are used, unlike other eco printing methods. The downside is blue is a color that does not print. I used fabric dyes to add various blues and greens. The printing process begins with placing foliage on the felt, then rolling and tightly tying it onto a metal pipe, followed by boiling it in a large aluminum pot for 2-4 hours: outside!
