With the theme of Hands Meet Earth, I focused on earth colors. In a few paintings, I've
incorporated "holy dirt" from Chimayo, New Mexico. It is a remarkable substance, rich red dirt,
as soft as clouds, that seems to love to be used with paint and happy on canvas. A personal
theme, more and more, is" Hands Meet Canvas." Most of my work now is fingerpainting, getting
my hands into the paint like they might do in a garden if I had any predilection for plants. Alas,
this Gemini/Libra girl is too airy, and I seem to have a brown thumb. However, brown thumbs of
paint make me very happy, as well as the rest of my fingers playing with the color and texture of
oils and acrylics. I come to painting through feeling. I try to discover the secrets in my body and
