Watercolor paintings 2008-present
I painted most of these after recovering from cancer. It is an easier medium to use than felting which can be somewhat physically demanding. Most of the imagery begins in a dream that I wake from and roughly sketch. Some paintings are close to the drawing, while in others I tighten the composition and/or add more images. Many of the paintings have other media added, such as pencil, ink, iridescent marker and oil pastels. They are finished with a wax medium because it protects the paintings, and I prefer the final"look." Alzheimers" did not originate from a dream, but a fugue state while staring at a wall, and it has a different feeling.
