Interpretation is fascinating in art and among my river rock abstract paintings there were several that fit this theme of Apart & Connected. River rocks found in stream beds are randomly moved by the forces of Nature, my constant inspiration, once connected then thrown apart by water, fierce winds, and time. I observed my painted abstractions of them and created titles that tie them to this past year in which a global pandemic raced around our planet, separating us with fear, sorrow, and anger. Now there is hope, optimism, and resolve that we can all be reconnected, not as we were but as we will be.
