I spoke with Fred about the piece, and he had this to say:

"It's rare, only made a few. This one has good form and proportions. I used to work as a guide...I escorted people into wild caves in the mountains of Virginia and West Virginia. We used carbide lanterns as a light source. Hence the reference. 'Spelunker' is its title.
