Large sculptural piece with crown, created by the artist as a homage to the monumental works in his BFA show (Morehead State University, KY).

The artist's statement accompanying the show:

One foggy story. That's all my work is, a foggy story.

It's one of the most important stories we can tell, the story is about life. It's about childhood, growing up, experiencing the world and how we jump through hurdles to give the idea that we are something important. We are all following a universal goal to just belong.

But what if our hurdles are higher than others? What if we had to start jumping sooner? With this difficulty, is it harder to remember what our story is? Trying to just survive does not leave much room to build a proper story line.

I don't remember my childhood. I don't know my story.

It took a conscious effort to come to terms with this. When I try and think back I don't find stories I enjoy. Why would I want to show a sad story? I ripped the pages and restarted, my story starts when I found art.

Near the end of this latest chapter, I was forced to stumble upon this torn out pages. These are stories that are more important to me than I wish they ever were. I want to put them to an end and air them out into the world, hopeful to never have to tell them again.

My work presented are these pages. Standing as pillars, they are what defined the world around me. I was both the smallest and largest being in the world. I hope that I am never stuck with complacency with these, as that would inevitably be the end.

What a terrible story that would be.
