From internet sources:

Gabriel was the name used on dinnerware by Winfield Pottery from the 1940's until they closed in the early 1960s. In 1946, the Gabriels made some sort of arrangement with American Ceramics of Santa Monica for them to use the Winfield name and produce many of the Winfield dinnerware lines. The Gabriels continued making other (and some identical) Winfield dinnerware patterns in Pasadena until 1962, inscribing their products "Gabriel Pasadena". The Gabriel China name was begun in 1947.
