"Hey Baby" gives voice to the surreal effect generated by the flight path of this wood stork against a first light sky that made me feel I was under the watchful eye of a goddess or movie star like Bettie Davis. Every year, these birds, along with a broad spectrum of species (like egrets, herons and ducks), return to Florida waterways to breed and raise their young, who soon follow in their migratory paths.

This photograph was taken at the end of March 2021 when I too returned to the Wakodahatchee Preserve in Delray, Florida having missed my semiannual photoexpeditions to central Florida in 2020.

This was chosen for its debut at the Gallery House, "Going Places," in honor of the birds who migrate every year and the conservationists who work to preserve their habitat.

Michael Endicott is a Fine Art photographer in San Francisco, California. Much of his life has been spent working at the intersection of the political and biological sciences. His camera has been his constant companion and his focus has always been on nature. His artistic perspective is an outgrowth of his experience, at the intersection of the "two worlds" shaped by nature and wo/man. His artwork explores the commonality in structure between the organic and the inorganic –both are comprised of protons, electrons and neutrons.

In essence, Michael produces cellular tapestries designed to connect the micro and macro structures that give shape and life to our world. Over time, his process in the digital darkroom has become more “sculptural” in nature as he bends wavelengths of light and molds multiple shots into one, and his photography has been pulled away from realism into the realm of expressionist or abstract painting. Most recently his abstract realism, The Mad Hatter, was part of the de Young Open at end of 2020. He has five pieces in "Through my Window," a show with 25+ other artists at Gallery House in Palo Alto.
