Clendenin was a painter and printmaker who lived in New York City and Provincetown, Massachusetts. Clendenin studied at Oxford University, the Sarbonne in Paris, the Banff School of Fine Arts in Canada and the Royal Academy in London. She was a member of the American Abstract Artists. Mentors and teachers included Ralph Pirson and Hans Hoffman.
