10" x 8" Framed with a wood frame painted black and gold, measures 11 3/4" x 1 1/2" x 9 1/2,
On back is the inscription, "Bradford Street" Provincetown, MA, Aug. 1959, and an address in San Francisco.
Born in New England. Studied at Harvard University and at the Yale University Architectural School. Worked from San Francisco, and died in Marin County, Calif. He participated in several ground-breaking group exhibitions including "Fifteen West Coast Painters," at the Poindexter Gallery, New York, (1961) and the Watercolor and Drawing Annual Exhibition at the San Francisco Museum of Art, (1960). Wells exhibited with success internationally, including at the Art Gallery of Toronto and the Whitney Museum of American Art. His work was also featured in the Los Angeles County Museum's groundbreaking 'Post-Painterly Abstraction' exhibition.
