Scot Bennet was Chair of the Division of Visual Arts, Roberts Wesleyan College, Rochester, NY from 2005-2010. He is an alumnus of that school (1981) with a BS in Studio Art and holds an MFA in Printmaking from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Scot taught at Houghton College for nineteen years before moving to Roberts Wesleyan.
Bennett considers being an active producing studio artist a requisite for teaching in the visual arts. His work combines the vocabulary of traditional and representational religious symbol with contemporary formalist mark-making in a dynamic exploration of his faith. He has an extensive exhibition record with work exhibited in galleries and churches both locally and at the regional level.
