I called the painting ‘Luminous Soul’ because I believe that each human is created in the image of God, an image of pure light and life. So our centre is like the ‘Flower of Life’ that shines with light and life if we allow it. It’s a luminous Soul.
The motif at the centre is the flower of life, a symbol that belongs to sacred geometry, symbolising the beginning of life. The motif starts with a circle and continues to grow by adding more circles until the flower of life is formed.
The lines are painted with egg tempera using azurite blue colour symbol in a repetitive pattern that has the feel of calligraphy and rhythm.
'Luminous soul' is made of four parts that come together in hand-gilded frame using 23.5 ct gold. So the frame becomes part of the painting completing it.
Rhythm and pattern are unique factors in each of my artwork.
