Salumaria in english means “Delicatessen” and this old shop looks like it would have been a very nice one. Now the shop sits empty, the paint is peeling, and the sign is fading - just the way I like it!
The driftwood piece is probably just as old as the actual building - you could see it had traveled the oceans for probably decades. The woodworking captain spent a lot of time with this piece which started out as one longer board but now sits 3 wide with metal pins (hidden) holding it together. It’s a nice solid piece now with some amazing cracks that you can easily see through - a beautiful effect. It will be a lucky wall that this piece calls home!
