Geylang Road in Singapore has a long history as the Red light District catering to all tastes imaginable. I’m not sure whether that information adds or takes away from the intrigue of the Shophouse - but if I had this piece hanging on my wall I might be tempted to add a little red LED to one of the holes in the wood.
The wood for this piece is very light and originally was one long board that we cut in half and mounted together. The existing pink and blue paint didn’t cover the entire piece so I had to get creative with fitting it into the overall look of the building.
