ITALY - Calle S. Zullian, Venezia

I found this door wandering the back streets of Venezia and the light was just right to create the shading of the greens. My photo captured it fairly well but I painted it mostly from memory - which may be less reliable these days ….. come to think of it maybe the door was red …..

Anyway, this piece of wood is perfect for a door - it has a strong well worn grain and with the metal hardware has a nice authentic look. I didn’t know what to do with the key for the lock so as you can see it’s mounted in the mail slot. You could unlock it but the metal strips are solid across …. it’s not that authentic
