This photo storyboard of "Pan American Unity Mural" shows small ink marks that indicate the separation points between mural panels that were designed to separate in order to facilitate the removal and reinstallation of the mural. Two names are listed on the back of the panel. The names that can be seen in additional image are Robert Vespa (photographer) and Rodger Beltran (Architect). It is speculated that this storyboard was created for Packard, so that she could assist in relocating the mural after Diego Rivera returned to Mexico. Packard was the lead assistant for this mural project. After its completion, "Pan American Unity Mural" was moved to a permanent home at City College of San Francisco. https://www.ccsf.edu/campus-life/arts-ccsf/pan-american-unity-mural. Packard her self can be found within the mural wearing a red sweater and facing a canvas. More information about the mural and a key to the individuals pictured within the mural can be found at: https://riveramural.org/
The mural is currently on view at the SF MOMA and will be on view until 2023, when the mural will then return to CCSF to be installed in a new performing arts center. https://www.sfmoma.org/exhibition/pan-american-unity/
This artifact belonged to Emmy Lou Packard and came into the possession of the Mendocino Art Center through a generous donation by the Packard family estate in 2018.
