The once majestic Sherbrooke Falls and its surroundings were mercilessly torn apart by the violent storms that struck in June 2021, leaving a scene of utter devastation across the Dandenong Ranges.
This fallen timber, a stark symbol of the destructive power of climate change, is also a powerful representation of our anthropocentric landscape. Witnessing severe weather events destroy old-growth forests, I face uncomfortable truths in this human-centred environment. Our actions and decisions often take precedence over the needs of the natural world, a reality that I, and perhaps you, are intimately familiar with.
