Recherchebreen Glacial Lagoon, small VE 10/15 by Megan Broughton Image: This variable edition (VE) is inspired by the glacial lagoon in front of Recherchebreen in Svalbard, Norway. This is a fairly new lagoon, formed by the retreat of the glacier, with still water and near imperceptibly slow moving ice formations. The imagery was created by pouring ferric chloride over ice; as ferric is denser than water, the melting ice carried the ferric chloride across the plate and allowed it to etch in partnership with the ice melt.
