Artist Statement:
Drop is a deeply cathartic reflection on existence, born from a personal journey of contemplating our place in the world. This sculpture captures the delicate balance between the profound impact we can have and the humbling reality of our own insignificance.
On one side, the wide-reaching ripple effect symbolizes how even the smallest actions can create waves that extend far beyond our immediate surroundings, affecting lives and circumstances we may never know. It speaks to the potential we have to influence the world, a reminder that every choice, every movement, matters.
On the other side, the singular drop represents the introspective realization that, in the grand scheme of things, we are but a drop in the vast ocean of life. This side of the sculpture is a meditation on humility and the acceptance that while we strive to make our mark, we are also part of a larger, interconnected existence where each of us is both essential and transient.
Drop is a piece that invites viewers to engage with their own thoughts on existence, impact, and humility. It is a space for contemplation, a mirror for the soul, reflecting both the ripples we create and the drop we are within the infinite ocean.
