Uprising #2 captures the elemental power of fire through its stacked, semi-arched bands of Cor-ten steel. Standing over eight feet tall, this freestanding sculpture evokes the rising energy of a bonfire—a practice deeply rooted in farm life, used to burn debris and renew the land.
The weathered texture of the cor-ten steel mimics the scorched yet fertile aftermath of fire, embodying both destruction and regeneration. The arched forms suggest flames leaping skyward, their movement and rhythm reflecting fire’s dual role as both a destructive force and a catalyst for new growth.
Through its raw materials and towering presence, Uprising #2 invites viewers to reflect on fire’s transformative power, offering a metaphor for renewal through resilience and the cycles of clearing and creation in nature.
