La Brecha translates into "The Gap" in Spanish. The area of Northern California where the artist had previously lived was famous for the Petaluma Gap, a wine region with cool nights and warm days. The visual spacing created within the placement of the physical components reference this "gap" and produces an aesthetically pleasing sense of visual movement.
