Jaguar Turquesa. Cast fiberglass, ribbons, metals, plastic, and acrylic paints. Turquoise colored jaguar face, with an inverted triangle mirror on its forehead. Yellow plastic eyes and multi-colored ribbons on both sides of headdress with metal decorations on the sides
These masks were designed for children to wear the jaguar mask as a headdress. The mask and accompanying performance is not based on any folkloric tradition. It is a creation of a new tradition, as a children’s procession with masks, in collaboration with the Primavera Folklórico Dance Company.
