Calaca #52. Full face mask used in performances by Ballet Folklorico Quetzalli-AZ of Chandler, AZ. Intertwined swirls of pink and purple on forehead with orange dot in center and green lines above. Eyes have pink triangle shapes all around them with green up and down lines with orange dots below them. Teeth are outlined in dark pink with green lines, orange lines and pink circles around the jaw line and chin with different colored dots all around.
It is made of plaster bandage and paper clay, painted with acrylic paints and ribbon, which ties the mask to the performer.
These masks are part of the Performance Collection, which contains pieces available for loan to use in community and artistic performances.
