Buneka. Full face mask used in performances by Arizona dance and theater companies. Calaca design with purple, pink, blue and green design. Forehead has green along the edge, and purple spiral designs along the forehead. Around the eyes are bright pink and blue lines with purple spirals underneath on the the cheeks. Nostrils are painted blue. Outline of teeth are painted pink. And chin has green and pink zig zag designs.
It is made of plaster bandage and paper clay, painted with acrylic paints and ribbon, which ties the mask to the performer.
These masks are part of the Performance Collection, which contains pieces available for loan to use in community and artistic performances.
