Axé IV. Full-face calaca skeleton mask made of plaster bandage and paper clay, painted with acrylic paints and ribbon, which ties the mask to the performer. Geometric curled orange designs on forehead, around eyes, cheeks, and jaw and chin. Blue dots outlined in orange in center of forehead and chin with orange lines above them. Blue lines outline the nose cut out and at temples of forehead. Orange dots on cheeks. Teeth outlined in purple and blue paint.
Used by Axé Capoeira AZ during their drum processions at Cultural Coalition festivals. These masks are part of the Performance Collection, which contains pieces available for loan to use in community and artistic performances.
