Circle mandala. Smaller, yellow, circle border attached to the center of mandala. Three tiny, gold circles attached to the yellow border. Two yellow triangles carved onto the top and bottom of mandala. Blue shapes carved throughout the mandala.

The Recycling the Sacred collection is composed of mandalas whose materials were primarily sourced from second hand stores. The artist began collecting variations of wood from second hand stores to later repurpose and give them "a new dignity and life." Many of the patterns used are inspired by ancient native cultures, particularly the basket and pottery designs of the Huhugam. Most of the mandalas take a circle shape, celebrating the Sacred Circle symbol and our place in it.
