Sandy Hook has changed since I took the photo used for this painting. There used to be a spot where the sunset over the river side dunes that produced a wonderful light across the water. While it is somewhat still there, it is not as spectacular as before. But the changes also produced new exciting configurations. This day, the setting sun produced a golden shoreline of the wet sand while the water remained dark with a blueish tinge. The sand was a warm brown which with the sunset colors gives an overall warm feeling to the painting.
