Maybe it was caring for the little fledgling sparrow last Fall. Maybe it was painting the Great Blue Heron. Or maybe it’s the new pastime of watching the lake wildlife from the backyard. In any case, I thoroughly loved painting this still life.
Normally, sparrows are rather tonal colors, but I’ve decided to paint this one with a bit of a secret under her wings. She got a prism of cool colors in violets, blue and greens. Hidden except to the keen birdwatcher! I know some people who are like that—Don’t hide your rainbow!
