This painting was inspired by the Charlotte, NC riots that took place on Sept 21, 2016. Tensions mounted after a black man, Keith Lamont Scott, was shot and killed by Charlotte police. This piece has hung in several juried exhibitions around the United States: 2018 Women's Caucus for Art in Santa Monica, CA; the OBRA Collective "Resist" Exhibition in Charlotte, NC; and in the "Truth to Power 6" Exhibit at Pleiades Gallery in Durham, NC. It has also been accepted into the 2018 issue of Still Point Arts Quarterly: Norman Rockwell's Four Freedoms Reinterpreted. The piece is currently framed.
