Glaciers still shape the Alaska landscape, carving deep fiords as they push huge masses of rock and earth seaward. Dana Bell of the National Air and Space Museum took the reference photograph for this batik of the Triumvirate Glacier northwest of Anchorage. Layers of dyes help create the illusion of depth in the canyon.
