THE WALL SERIES
In the fall of 2011 I was asked to design a prayer wall for my church, Westminster Presbyterian in downtown Dayton. Immediately I thought of the Western Wall in Jerusalem, where people of all cultures come to tuck small written prayers and concerns into the cracks of this ancient stone wall.
That got me to thinking that perhaps walls could be viewed in a positive manner, a way of bringing people together rather than as a means to close others out. That walls could have color, and emotion, that they could be prayerful, full of compassion and empathy. So, I started creating walls. Positive, hopeful, colorful walls.
Perhaps one of these colored walls will speak to you of hope, peace, joy or compassion. Maybe spending time with one of these walls will help you channel these qualities. Then you can carry them out into the world.
