I traveled to Monhegan Island, Maine quite a number of years ago, and was captured by the clothes hanging on the line just outside our rooms. It took me several years to decide to do the painting in my own way. The morning light was highlighting the trees on the right and left most of the rest of the scene in a more muted early morning color. It is hard to say what is the focus of this painting, but I hope it might be more about a story!
