"Blue Dogwood" was an exercise in trying to create the feeling of the green landscape without using green. This type of monochromatic color scheme is always fun to do. It allows the viewer's brain to work it out and participate in creating the feeling of the painting. There are both warm and cool blues in this painting to show depth and form.
