I wanted to bring attention to a problem that many owls and other creatures face. The issue of secondary poisoning. Many people will set out poison for rodents, this does not only kill the rodents but any other creature that feast upon the poisoned rodents. In the UK Barn Owls are facing this danger at an alarming rate. Ironicly the more birds of prey that die from this the more rodents there are, as the birds are no longer around to keep the mice and rat numbers down.
