It’s about time.

Using visual techniques borrowed from time-lapse photography, Star Traces tracks the sun across the sky, aligning to set behind the oak tree. Mark has been working with this single oak tree for 10 years.

His original photographs are the source, allowing him to manipulate and combine them with a few selected mediums. Many explore the relationship between the oak tree and the sun while re-imaginging the time spent capturing the moments.

Star Traces is composed of multiple layers in resin, bringing painting, printing and mixed media together in a unique and original piece.
