This work was made in the late winter. I had edged my luck walking on the ice at the edge of this Boreal bog photographing as I was going. This was one of the last photos I made that day. I saw the reflection first but then the flecks of snow in the foreground grasses caught my eye giving the work some depth and interest. I photographed this landscape using medium format 6x6 with Kodak film at 400 iso. A few days later I returned to the same spot and fell through the ice, not touching the bottom. I ended up in hospital later that day in much pain and with a damaged knee after hitting the ice. I was lucky, it was the adrenaline that managed to get me back to the vehicle with was about a kilometer away.
