This is not my forest. It does not belong to me and I do not belong in it. It is virgin forest, untouched by logging or farming. Songbirds and owls live in the trees and watch deer, bear, and foxes. Coyotes howl at night. It is beautiful, dark, and mysterious. Teeming with life while also in decay. There is magic here, but it is not for us to touch. Don't linger long.
Ozark National Forest, Dennard, Arkansas
This work immerses us in the heart of the virgin Ozark forest, a landscape untouched by human hands. The artist invites us to witness a world where nature thrives freely: songbirds and owls inhabit the treetops, deer, bears, and foxes move through the undergrowth, and the coyote’s howl echoes at night. Life and decay exist side by side in a delicate balance.
The piece conveys a haunting beauty—both luminous and dark—capturing the mystery and untamed power of the natural world. It reminds us that this is not a space for ownership or control; it exists on its own terms, full of energy and hidden magic.
An invitation to observe without intervening, to sense the wild, and to respect the boundaries between humans and nature.
