I make work about our impact on the environment by creating interconnected drawings, sculptures, and installations.
MessageSite-specific Installation, Hunters Point South, NYC
A project which is part of Chance Ecologies (www.chancecologies.org). There are 8 small-scale installations throughout the site. I led 2 walking tours through the site and stopped at these 8 spots to talk about the past, present and future of the site and to give the viewers a chance to reflect on this, along with the landscape and my site-specific installations that are based on the elements of construction/destruction that serve as the foundation for the evolution of this specific site from an organic sprawl into a controlled environment. 6 of the 8 pieces were left on site and demolished when the rest of the site was and they were taken to an undisclosed site with the rest of the debris, the migrating landfill cycle continues. 2 of the pieces were taken back to my studio and are in my archive.
