Petrichor is the smell of earth after rain.
Rain can feel so cleansing. When it has been hot, dry and dusty and then the skies suddenly burst with clear water, flashes of light and loud drums and rumbles. And then, as suddenly, it stops and the world is filled with bright sunshine and cool breezes. Petrichor is in the air with the earthy scent of mushrooms and clay.
