Earth on Fire is a mobile artist book shaped like a sphere (14 cm diameter), made with chin colle ink and acrylic drawings on Kozo paper. It moves gently with the air currents in the space, representing the instability and unpredictability of our planet under the pressure of climate change. The fiery colours—reds, blacks, soft yellows—suggest burning landscapes and environmental urgency.
Its small, portable form means the whole picture is never fully visible at once—like the Earth, it must be experienced in motion and over time. Its scale invites quiet contemplation: a reminder that something so small can hold immense significance, even as it drifts within a vast and indifferent universe. The recurring circle motifs come from my Indonesian and Chinese heritage, symbolising cycles and connection. I work intuitively, always exploring how far I can push the physical limits of materials and form.
