The light came softly

White peonies bouquet. The light was very important to me in this painting as it told the story of the energy of each individual flower, as well as the bouquet as a whole. I was fascinated by how the light played on the petals of the flowers -- and how each of the blossoms played a different role in the bouquet. Some of the flowers stood front, center, and proud; some reached off for the light to the side; and still some of the other flowers seemed to hide themselves in the shadows. My hope is that when you look at this painting, your eye settles on each of the flowers and appreciates each of the roles they play in creating this lovely bouquet.
