Series: One of six works created during the Artist Residency at Werkstattwoche Lüben

This striking mixed-media piece was created during the prestigious Artist Residency at Werkstattwoche Lüben and marks a bold step in the artist’s material exploration. For the first time, oil, acrylic, ink, and concrete were combined on a specially prepared canvas, resulting in a richly textured and deeply atmospheric work.

The concrete base not only alters the visual impact of the surface, but also physically transforms the interaction between paint, ink, and ground — creating a compelling dialogue between fragility and solidity, fluidity and permanence.

Visually, the piece oscillates between abstraction and landscape, evoking elements of nature, erosion, and memory. Layers of muted greys and smoky blues are punctuated by vivid ultramarine and gestural green lines that seem to hover and move across the surface. Subtle ink washes and bold mark-making invite viewers to immerse themselves in a world that feels at once grounded and ephemeral.

Part of a series of six works, this painting reflects a moment of artistic risk and innovation — a testament to the evolving practice of an artist unafraid to cross boundaries and embrace the unexpected.
